Pahela Baishakh: PM to address nation at 7:30pm

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the nation this evening on the occasion of the Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bangla calendar, to be held tomorrow.

She is scheduled to address the nation around 7:30pm, said Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.

The speech will be broadcast by Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar as well as private television channels and radio stations.

The country is set to celebrate Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year-1429, tomorrow upholding the rich cultural values and rituals of the Bangalees.

The Bangla Nabobarsho festival is also going to be celebrated at its traditional venue Ramna Batamul in Dhaka for the first time after two years due to Covid-19 situation.
